Guitar paintings
The guitar was Paul Radford's most enduring subject — a form he returned to across four decades of painting. From bold, flat-colour compositions to the layered, weathered surfaces of his later paired-guitar works, the shape gave him a vehicle for colour, texture, and variation that he never exhausted. Many of these paintings were shown at The Venus Guitar Club (Space Art Gallery, Auckland, 2013) and through the gallery in the years that followed.
